    Rare and Beautiful Hand Crafted Polychrome Acoma Pottery Olla Created from Native Clay and Mineral Paint and Signed C. Cerno Acoma, New Mexico (Connie Cerno b. 1915)

    Description: Connie Cerno is the matriarch of three prominent generations of Cerno family potters. She is reputed to have mentored an outstanding group of contemporary Acoma artists. This is an excellent example of her work.
    Acoma Pueblo, around 40 miles west of Albuquerque, New Mexico, is the oldest continually occupied village in the United States. The people of Acoma have produced fine traditional hand formed pottery since the 12th century.
